The tax breaks consist of a deduction from the IRPEF or from the IRES, granted granted for the implementation of measures to improve the level the level of energy efficiency of the existing buildings where there is already a heating system. Eligible for tax deductions are natural persons, professionals, companies and businesses who pay for energy efficiency improvements on existing buildings, on their parts or on existing real estate units of any cadastral category. The deductions are granted if the costs have been incurred for the following interventions:

• reduction of energy requirements for heating the whole building general renovation;
• improvement of the thermal performance of the building envelope with the construction of a coat (through insulation of slabs, walls or replacement of windows or parts thereof);
• installation of solar thermal panels;
• replacement of winter air conditioning systems (condensing boilers, heat pumps, heat pump water heaters, heat pump water heaters).

The insulation occurs through the insertion inside the polystyrene strips. EPS (Sintered Expanded Polystyrene) sintered polystyrene is a rigid, light weight material derived from petroleum and composed exclusively of carbon and hydrogen atoms.

• EXCELLENT RESISTANCE TO HUMIDITY. EPS is permeable to water vapor, so it is breathable, but impermeable to water. This feature prevents mold from forming inside buildings and environments isolated with EPS.

• ENVIRONMENTAL SAFETY AND RECYCLABILITY. EPS is not fertile ground for the development of bacteria or other microorganisms. It is generally possible to recycle or otherwise dispose of EPS waste without problems. It is also non-toxic and inert, ie it does not transfer substances that are harmful to air, water or soil.
